Headbanging tunes and hair metal are not everyones forte, but there are still a big portion of die-hard hair-metallers out there. Musical tastes aside, here are some terrible, terrible insults to the eyes with a list my the top five worst hair-metal albums covers. Apologies for what cannot be unseen, once you have scrolled down this page…
Five) Picture me broken – Wide Awake
Instead of making a number one hit, looks like the kids on this cover crawled out a there uncles grease-filled garage after being fed all the chocolate and sweets they could possibly consume, and could not decide what expressions to put on their faces.

Four) Mad Butcher - Metal Meat
I wasn’t sure at first if the fat guy was mincing his only belly or not. On closer inspection it appears to be a guitar going through the meat-grinder.

Three) Stryken – First Strike
Christian Metal.
Did they run out of ink half way through designing this?

Two) 27 North – STrike while the iron is hot
Are they named after a highway? Last time I checked, lumps of cold hard metal were about the only things that worked well on anvils, not guitars… Maybe he is trying to destroy his own music? One can only hope. Oh and, grab a shirt, yeah?

One) Iron Cross – Too hot to rock
Finnish metallers clearly don’t understand what ‘too hot to rock’ really means..

1. Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club
The classic album released in the 60′s by the infamous Beatles, surely has a place in most peoples heart. The cover was designed by Director Robert Fraser and won a Grammy.

2. Sticky Fingers
There has always been rivalry between The Rolling Stones and the Beatles, although this dissipated somewhat in 1970 when the Beatles split. Sticky Fingers crotch-shot cover is a work of Andy Warhol, and the original album had a real zipper on it too.

3. Dark Side of the Moon
Pink Floyd’s infamous Dark Side of the Moon was designed by Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell, who collaborated to become the design kings Hipgnosis, who worked with Pink Floyd on every major album made.

4. The Velvet Underground and Nico
Released in 1967, Andy Warhols cover sported nothing but a single, yellow banana. As an example of Warhols merging of marketing and art or, martketing(?!), he printed instruction on the cover for buyers of the album to peel the banana, which revealed a flesh coloured one underneath!

5. Led Zeppelin
This sel-titled album released in 1969, features an image of the flaming Hindenburg Airship. The band supposedly joked about the group when they were forming and is said to have said ‘It would probably go over like a lead balloon…. a lead zeppelin!’

From the consumer reviews that are widely available on the net, it is quite clear that as the RIAA insists, that the music industry is collapsing; reality shows is quite maddening. The reviews are a remarkable read for anyone who is sick and tired of the RIAA’s ridiculous insistence that the music industry is becoming extinct.
The team that compiled the report “sky is rising” is actually pleased that the RIAA took time to go through the report. However, the team points out that RIAA do not agree with it, and that the music industry is actually doing well. Their reasons for disagreeing are attributed to the fact that the report does not work well with the strategies for legislature. This is because passing new legislation to help legacy gatekeeper records label is one of its main goals while helping the artists is not in the list of their main goals.

The claims are basically pointless given the fact that, the record industry is not the music industry. In a real sense, the record sales are only a small fraction of the music industry at large. We cannot ignore the role that live music, musical shows, video games, sound tracks in movies and commercials as well as endorsements play. They make a significant part of the music industry. The key record companies get their fair share on all these as well though publishing and copyrighting, not to forget the actual sound recording. As a matter of fact, the report points out that the market for the artists and the consumers is quite commendable. However, it is quite challenging the key legacy players; no wonder the claims form RIAA.
The one problem with RIAA is the fact that the reports are misleading and have no actual facts. It therefore claims that it does not give a comprehensive of what is reality happening in the U.S. However, the team has pointed out that rather than looking at the actual sales, it looked at global sales that have a wider range of industries that are outside of music.

Since the Greenbrier classic concert series started two years ago it has gained a very strong reputation. More so, Greenbrier was recognised as the best by the association of the concert series. However, according to the owner of Greenbrier, the bar can still be raised. Since they started, their tournaments have been regarded as the best. This is because they would not stop their performance before they got an appreciation.
Just two years after Bon Jovi and Toby Keith got into their contract of six years they had the Greenbrier coveted. This however won them their award in 2011. This was accelerated by the weekly performance they have at the tournament that have been all along spectacular.

So far they have been named as the best class. As such they have had to maintain their title. To achieve this they organize press conferences every Friday and have promised greater things for the tournament that was due. According to them the tournament will assist them to get the next level. This will gain the winner a contract from greenbrier. However for Bon Jovi and Toby Keith, they believe they are going to get the prize after the auditions that will take place in Virginia.
However, any tournament without professional golfers, cannot be a tournament. As such they have invited Tiger woods and other professionals for the tournament. They expect this will gain them the looks and at the same time make the field look better. As such the tournament will run for eight days during which they will make the best historic moments. They also expect to have a series of tournament that is meant to bring out the best in them.

February 18th 2012 has been marked as the day of Whitney Houston’s funeral, in Newark, New Jersey. The Whigham Funeral Home put weight on the statement saying that Whitney Houston’s funeral would go ahead on Saturday at the Newark. This is where she was raised and sang as a child. Guns and Roses original members will be make an appearance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cleveland Ohio on April 14. It is not yet clear whether or not the original band will team up and perform at the ceremony.

It is also important to note that Guns N’ Roses, Donovan and the Faces are some of the inductees to the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and that is despite snubs for the Cure and a pair of disco acts. Guns N’ Roses is not your everyday band and it hasn’t gone out of it’s way to be fan-friendly but it is difficult to not feel a little bit of trepidation walking into their concert nowadays.
Guns N’ Roses featured an emotive version of ‘Street of Dreams‘ at the forum in Los Angeles. The Chinese Democracy which has been the bands live staple for ten years.

Spotify is a fresh way of listening to music that has been introduced into the market. It is like a music collection of sorts – a library. It comes in many shapes and sizes and has a vast collection of music. It is compatible with with your PC, Mac, home audio system and your mobile phone too. It is unique in that the music plays live so you don’t have to take time downloading it saving space on your hard drive while at it.
Paul McGuinness – U2 manager – however thinks artists are slow at embracing Spotify for they feel it is of no financial benefit to them. He claimed this when at the trade fair of music industry MIDEM. He said that regardless of Spotify being an ultimately good thing, artists still looked at it as a medium for promotion.

He said Spotify was taking time to be popular with musicians because they were not seeing the financial benefit behind it. He blamed the labels for they partly-own it and there was not enough transparency. He said he didn’t see why Spotify couldn’t be a part of the future saying all it needed was a little encouragement. His wish is to see Spotify adopted every where.
He didn’t have kind words for Google though going full throttle on the search engine for it’s failure to come down on illegal downloading. He couldn’t understand why majority of content that is distributed via Google is not paid for wondering how artists are expected to sustain the flow. There has been a slight improvement on th number of Spotify paying subscriber with the number reaching three million which is a 15% increase.
Spotify however should brace itself for competiton from Napster which just relaunched as a legal streaming service with it’s subscribers able to access over 15 million songs.

Slash is yet to release his second album as a solo artist though he admits to being the band guy that he is. The album is entitled “Apocalyptic Love”. Being a former band member, he spoke out about his long time affinity for working with fellow musicians and how he even liked working in a band atmosphere. He explains that he was not a tyrant and did not need to head anything for he prefers giving an ear to what other people’s ideologies are.

Slash even claims that his current album, is much of a group effort and should not be considered as a solo project. Having collaborated with other renowned singers and guitarists, he has also indicated that the three would be accompanying him on the ensuing tour this summer to promote the album. The co-workers are therefore not looking for any kind of glamourised recognition other than the favour they are doing for their colleague.
He further explains that he came to realize that he was meant for bands when he was 15 years of age, when all he knew were a few relevant riffs and chords with which he was able to form a band. He claims that he didn’t wish to pursue a solo career, as he was that way with all his other hobbies and did not want music to be contrasting for he is much of egocentric in the most he pursues.

Being the oldest and the one with the best legs up in terms of experience, he however does not down play his former band mates, all of whom he decsibes as being really professional and do not need any schooling in any way, be it shape or form. They do what it is they do as much as he has ever done it as he further states.

In the musical calendar the Brit Awards 2012 is the hottest event of the year. For this reason, lovers of the awards are supposed to take out their bingo cards and get daubers ready for some action. They have to wait while the knee of James Corden explodes.
There are some events that made the night extra special and some of these include the following.
- The unexpected winners of the night who were Fleet Foxes.
- Adele seating near the piano and looking all sad.
- Ed Sheeran who begun singing “drink one shot”. While this is supposed to be a game, one ends up drinking in order to keep up with the rest.
- Spotting of Professor Green in a nice suit and a haircut he would not have considered two years before because it is not practical.
- A duo of the Jameses is formed by James Blake and James Morrison.
- Formation of two duo artists that have the initial J in their name and these include Jessie J and PJ Harvey.
- The mentioning of Whitney Houston.
- Arrival of Bjork while wearing fake swans
The Brit Awards was filled with all these happenings and more. By large, they made the entire session interesting and captivating and it is little wonder that most people are always looking forward to the event. As in any other event there were some winners and losers.
There are a couple of things that lead to the explosion of James Corden’s knee and this includes the fact that the entire event passes without a word about Cee Lo Green as well the notorious final of Paloma Faith’s 2011 Brits. This was seen as a bewildering performance rather than a performance and many felt that it was a stage invasion rather than the proper fitting to a climax.
